My experience

My experience includes eighteen years in leadership or board roles in arts and cultural organisations (inc. Shoreditch Town Hall, Donmar Warehouse, Corn Exchange Newbury, Oxford Playhouse, Riverside Studios, and Arts Council, England, South East) combined with seven years as a consultant – as an independent, working with Alex Homfray / Destination Consulting and until recently, as a Senior Associate of BOP Consulting.

I have proven expertise in business stabilisation and transformation, and work with clients to deliver key development projects such as capital feasibilities and business planning as well as to rethink operational and organisational strategy - ultimately with the goal of delivering increased efficiency, quality programming, and improved performance. This solid foundation and range of expertise allows me to approach consulting in a way clients value; as an informed and sensitive collaborator, able to genuinely relate to and understand the kinds of unique challenges arts and cultural organisations face today.

My Consultancy Approach

My approach to consulting is informed jointly by my time in senior roles in the sector and the range of consultancy projects I have successfully delivered over recent years. This has included developing creative SME’s and cultural buildings, fundraising and delivering multi-art form programmes and capital projects, often during periods of significant change or challenge.

This dual background and range of expertise allows me to approach projects in a way clients value; as a partner and collaborator able to relate to and respond to key organisational challenges with an informed and sensitive approach founded on a hands-on experience, rather than purely theoretical knowledge. It also includes an ongoing broad knowledge of the creative industries, sector trends and policy development as it relates in real terms to individual organisations and different disciplines.
